CCS Swim Team Excels At Championships!

CCS Swimmers in only their second year as a program are taking great strides. Both the Middle School and High School teams put on exciting performances. Here are some of the highlights from the Middle School KMSSL Championship Results and the High School KISL Championship Results. .

Middle School:  

Our boys Medley Relay of River Bailey, Jacob Lane, Connor Peeke, and Jake Baldwin placed 14th overall, our girls Free Relay of Lizzy Kerr, Ella Lewis, Keelyn Chamberlin, and Grace LaCharite placed 12th overall, and our Mixed Relay, with one of the most exciting races of the Championship, led by Grace LaCharite, then Lizzie Kerr, Kolby Leach, and  brought home by Jackson Vineyard placed 2nd overall!!

Grace LaCharite won 1st place in the 50 breaststroke with a best time of 32.49.

Jackson Vineyard placed 3rd in the 50 back with a best time of 29.95 and 6th in the 50 free with a best time of 25.17, later to drop down in his relays to get under a 25!

River Bailey had a best time in his 100 IM to place him 16th, and best time in his 50 back of 34. 01 to get 9th place!

Kolby Leach had a best time in his 50 free to place 14th.

We had best times by Annika Fletcher (7 sec drop in IM), Jake Baldwin, Ella Lewis, Connor Peeke (large drops in every event!!), Jacob Lane, Elijah Gwillaims (12 sec drop in 100 free!), Keelyn Chamberlin, Addi Brown, and Evie Wade.

A very exciting, fun, and fast day!  Congratulations to all middle school swimmers!!

High School: 

ALL 8 of our boys made it back for the FINALS Sunday evening!  Every "A" Relay came back to compete!  Our 200 Medley Relay of Braden Peeke, Nathan Armour, Connor Langford, and Kade Leach placed 11th overall, our 200 Free Relay of Braden, Jacob Armour, Nathan, and Kade placed 11th overall, and our 400 Free Relay of Lake Bailey, Mason Reed, Grayson Petersen, and Connor placed 15th overall!

We had best times in almost all of our individual and relay events!  With no high schoolers graduating this year, we can really look forward to next year too!

And Kade Leach will be competing in the 50 free at the TISCA State Championships on Friday, 2/8/2019!!  Our 2nd season as a team and we are going to the Tennessee State Championships.  This is incredibly exciting and a huge accomplishment.  So Congratulations Kade!!
